What is mountaineering, if not a very close relationship with nature and with one's own strength?

Right here in Cogne stands the Gran Paradiso, the only four-thousander entirely in Italy.
Many great mountaineers have accomplished extraordinary feats in this valley. Many are the pioneers, like Guido Rey and Giusto Gervasutti, who helped to explore and map these mountains, paving the way for generations of mountaineers. With their knowledge of the territory and their experience, the Alpine Guides have been fundamental in the development of this discipline in the region.
