La Devétéya de Cogne

Come and experience one of the most-awaited weekends that marks the end of the summer season in the Valley of Cogne.
It's the Devétéya, the descent of the herds from higher alpine pastures. An event able to combine nature, culture and traditions... not to be missed!

SATURDAY 26th SEPTEMBER 2026

The decorated cows parade in the streets of the village. The Reina di cornes (queen of the horns) opens the parade with the typical red "bosquet", followed by the Reina di lacé (Queen of milk, the most productive cow) decorated with a white "bosquet". The folkloric group Lou Tintamaro de Cogne leads the parades with its traditional musics and costumes.
During the whole day, take a stroll along the streets of the town centre among the stands of the market with typical and artisanal products, to bring home a keepsake from this day.

Dinner of the Devétéya: from 8.00 p.m. at the municipal gym by ProLoco di Cogne (reservations recommended).

SUNDAY 27th SEPTEMBER 2026

The celebration goes on on Sunday with the blessingof the animals and the music of the youth folkloric group Lou Tintamaro Enfants.
